Learn how your students can participate (or present) in the World Water Day Virtual Youth Summit: Ripples Make Waves, March 22, 2018.
Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
Ripples Make Waves is a 24 hour, LIVE, virtual event bringing youth worldwide together to discuss, share and advocate for clean water on United Nation's World Water Day, March 22, 2018.
At 9:00am US Central/1:00pm GMT, a representative from UN Water opens the summit from Geneva, Switzerland.
Students and International water experts then present at the top of every hour with International roll call and Q & A in between the interactive sessions.
Ripples Make Waves brings together BOTH student presentations, as well as experts in global water issues for balance and multiple viewpoints. 2018 sessions will feature inspiring speakers such as:
- 12 year old Autumn Peltier (Manitou Island Ontario) First Nation water protector and ambassador.
- 12 year old Shritha Reddy (Racine Wisconsin), Founder of her own NFP water resource organization.
- 14 & 16 year old sisters Melati & Isabel Wijsen (Bali Indonesia) Co-founders www.byebyeplasticbags.org
- Reef HQ, Queensland, Australia- A live dive with student/diver conversation regarding the health of our coral reefs.
Ripples Make Waves, as well as other Adventure Kids Learning Virtual Expeditions, fosters global collaboration by breaking down barriers, bridging cultural gaps and most importantly -broadening mutual understanding and learning.
2018 will also incorporate follow-up ACTION items into the event. Young people can and DO make global impact. This is their opportunity to be inspired and be part of the change they wish to see in the world!
