Dear GEC Members -

In a few weeks, we are going to experience a glorious online event, the Global Education Conference. At this point, I can safely say that we'll have 200+ high quality sessions focused on global collaborations and education for all.

One of our goals this year has been to increase student participation, and I'm happy to say that we are seeing more student/teacher teams submitting proposals. We would also like to see students be active participants in sessions. One way to accomplish this might be to have students write news articles about various sessions.

There are 2 ways we can go about this:

  1. Individual students can attend sessions and write articles about these sessions. They would submit these to me, and I would probably put them in a newsletter each evening (GMT-6) so that our attendees have an overview of some of the sessions that have taken place that day.
  2. A high school journal team can take responsibility for writing a few articles, editing submitted conent, and publishing them using a tool of their choice. Individual students from other schools could submit articles to this team for review as well.

I know this is fairly last minute, but if there are individuals or classes out there interested in trying this out, let me know in the comments below and we'll figure out a plan!

Thanks,

Lucy Gray
