Short Session Description (one line):
Smartphone and tablet micro-course development standards, techniques, tips, and tricks.
Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
With the explosion of online education, various modalities have popped up and seemingly taken over… or at least attempted to wiggle themselves into a position of dominance. What educators and researchers alike have found - is this… technology and development routines cannot be taken lightly nor can they be careless in propagating their courseware in public. Poor quality – un-researched course offerings on both smartphones and tablets produce confused and careless dependency by ill-prepared teachers and administrators.
This session will cover current research focusing on micro-course development standards, what works and what does not work, and will discuss the uses of smartphone and tablet micro-course development as a function of the grade-level and subject matter. Participants will be exposed to tested strategy on the development process of micro-courses as well as the practical and personal qualitative assessments completed to date. Participants will leave the session with a well-grounded foundation to develop a micro-course… from scratch, knowing the elements that he/she need to consider prior to public usage!
