It all began in 2005 when the first connection for learning beyond borders took off for Veronica Woo, a TESL teacher and her students from SMJK Poi Lam, Ipoh, Malaysia. That first step they took was with an all-boys Maori school called Hato Paora College in New Zealand. The journey was an eye-opener and most insightful for Veronica and her students. And from there on, there was no turning back on their virtual learning journey taking Veronica and her classes to countries like Taiwan, Australia, the USA, Germany, Indonesia, Vietnam and The Phillipines.
Come and join this session with Veronica Woo who will share and talk to you about:
- How the journey began
- Snapshot stories of connection, collaboration and communication
- The ICT tools used
- Learning and cultural awareness
- ‘Frog VLE Virtual Learning Environment’ - The Malaysian School ‘1BestariNet’ Project
