Presenters will provide specific strategies for young people to use social media and other digital platforms to mark their mark in our global world.


Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

Digital literacy today means finding ways to help young people connect with others around the world in a safe and authentic context. Teachers and parents want to provide students with skills and opportunities to make and share content but worry about consequences. The presenters will share cases of young people who have become empowered and formed online communities in which they use their own voices to explore, create and connect. Topics include audience, sharing, and responsibility. Lesson plans ideas and issues of digital rights and digital activism will also be included ion resources.
