Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
This session will provide an overview of effective strategies for using online discussion boards. These strategies include developing small group discussions online, using group leaders to facilitate discussion, and questioning techniques to facilitate discussion. These strategies are important for increasing learner engagement and participation as well as for making the online teaching experience more manageable for the instructor. Of particular importance are the specific pedagogical tools and questioning techniques that encourage students to make global connections and explore each topic in a deeper manner that generates more opportunities for deeper global connections to more diverse communities. Faculty will discuss the research literature that supports the use of these strategies as well as their own experiences using these strategies. Student testimonies will also be shared and they will share their reactions to the use of these strategies.

She cancelled!

I have a couple of others that I cannot find on the google schedule. That would mean that they are canceled correct?
I wish there was a way to search what is on the schedule. When I search in the top right it provides search results to these forum/topics pages. But then if I am interested and want to attend, I then need to search for them on the google schedule to find the time and session link.
Looking forward to the opening session!
