Short Session Description (one line): Students use journalism as a means of cross cultural exchange to educate, empower and collaborate on topics ranging from democracy/governance to climate change and social entrepreneurship. 


Full Session Description (one paragraph minimum): Student Reporting Labs connect students with a network of public broadcasting mentors, an innovative journalism curriculum and an online collaborative space to develop digital media, critical thinking and communication skills while producing original news reports for PBS NewsHour Extra. We have partnered with iEarn in the past and want to continue reaching out to international students using journalism as a tool of cross cultural exchange. This presentation will inform viewers of the exciting activities happening at the PBS NewsHour and ways they can get involved with this new initiative.
