Short Session Description (one line): Learn how your Chinese Language class(es) can learn Chinese from their peers in China, through a dynamic new multimedia online resource.
Full Session Description (one paragraph minimum): In this session, you will learn how your class(es) can access and use OneWorld Classrooms’ free, password-protected Student to Student Language Lab. The Lab is an online multimedia resource through which students in China teach their US or global peers Chinese. The Lab features over 3,000 videos, 1,600 audio files and 1,600 student art flashcards.
OneWorld Classrooms’ mission is to prepare young people for local and global citizenship and for community engagement in culturally diverse settings, by providing them opportunities to interact and learn with their global peers in the context of the K-12 curriculum. We offer innovative arts and technology-based programs and services through which students and after-school program children and youth 1) share, collaborate and explore with their peers from different cultures; 2) develop global awareness and cross-cultural understanding; and 3) gain the skills, knowledge and attitudes they need to improve their academic achievement and become thoughtful, compassionate and globally competent individuals.
