Throughout the Personalized Learning Playboook workshop, participants will be able to generate a lesson plan to take back to their classrooms in one of the five formation plays. As a facilitator of the workshop, I will be showcasing how to generate the different lesson plans in all five formations. I believe that in order to deploy any shift in education, the participants need to see it in action first.
Background on why the Five Formations work. Over the last eight years, I have been working as a blended and personalized learning coach for schools all around the country. I have deployed the Five Formations from the Personalized Learning Playbook with school districts like Fulton County in Georgia, Akron STEM Middle School in Ohio, and with my own Blended Learning School, Learning Without Limits in Columbus, Ohio. If educators follow these Five Formation Game plans, then they will be able to deploy a successful Personalized Learning environment.
The Five Formations within the Personalized Learning Playbook:
- Personalized Learning Game Book Formation 1- Learn how to transform a traditional classroom into a personalized learning classroom.
- Personalized Learning Game Book Formation 2- Implementing free technology tools that will provided adaptive practice and data collection to allow students to generate their own learning targets.
- Personalized Learning Game Book Formation 3- Developing a playlist of activities that students can choice from to generate their own learning goals and to master their learning targets.
- Personalized Learning Game Book Formation 4- Honing in on goal setting from the student collected data folders. Turning over the power of learning to the students
- Personalized Learning Game Book Formation 5- Teacher becomes the facilitator and guides the students through their own prescript of learning targets
