Full Session Description (as long as you would like): For many years, educators have debated the aim of schools and what we can call knowledge. This debate has brought us to the fact that no matter how we see education, we all want our students to acquire powerful knowledge in which they find their identities as learners and citizens of the world. Thus, the intercultural dimension of global education appears vital to establish a sense of global citizenship and explore our own communities with broader horizons.
This presentation is to highlight how effective use of cross-cultural education can play a major role in creating a global generation empowered by leadership and 21st century skills that, in this presentation, are defined in cross-cultural communication, collaboration and critical thinking. It is through a project-based implementation of cross-cultural dialogue students learn about each other cultures in an informed and open way. The sense of relation cross-cultural dialogues promote among the world's youth are to help our students view the world from different perspectives and build on cultural tolerance.
In this presentation, we will highlight major components that both educators and students can work on to have a successful cross-cultural education experience during their school life. It also aims to highlight how we, as educators, can integrate such a meaningful unique experience in our school curriculum bringing both schooling and non-schooling knowledge to effectively work together. Finally, the presentation will mention how virtual exchanges can be a powerful tool to implement a successful program experience for teachers and students alike.
The importance of this presentation is that it drives teachers' attention to how efficient cross-cultural experiences are in today's prestigious education.
