Co-Chair

Dear GEC Members,

First, since my last email, extraordinary events have impacted the world, most notably our friends in Ukraine. Our network has at least 75 members based in Ukraine. Therefore, it is essential to acknowledge the invasion of Ukraine and condemn this unnecessarily hostile act. Let peace and justice prevail!

Recent world events are reminders that it is more important than ever for schools and organizations to incorporate global education into their work. We must continue to prepare students for a changing world by helping them develop global competence. Our teachers also need to reconnect and find inspiration again after more than two years of challenging school circumstances.

As I mentioned in my last email to this community, Dr. William Rankin and I are in the process of redesigning and reviving the Global Education Conference Network. We hope to gather our community again and virtually support global educators and organizations. Read more about this work here

You can help us by taking this survey. We value the input from individuals and organizational leaders and want to know how we can best support educators and organizations invested in global education.

Over the next few weeks, you will see changes to our site and social media accounts as we start to evolve into Actionable Innovations Global. One new activity will be Actionable Innovation Conversations, a free weekly informal gathering with notable innovators in education. If you are interested in joining us, please look at our upcoming events and register. There is no cost to attend.

In closing, below is a beautiful image from the noted children's author and illustrator, Peter Reynolds. He wants everyone to share this message of peace and love, so let's pass it on!

Thanks again for your support,

Lucy Gray
