This session will discuss and compare mathematics teaching strategies from different parts of the world. The purpose is to heighten awareness of international perspectives on mathematical education. Different countries give different meanings to and have different ideas about effective mathematics instruction. An understanding of various approaches to mathematics instruction is of critical importance when today’s teachers are instructing students coming from diverse backgrounds. The session will highlight worldwide difference between mathematics in education and mathematics in the real world.
