Full Session Description:

This workshop will explore the process of creating curriculum elements that make global learning accessible, interactive, and fun for students while empowering them to brainstorm solutions to world issues. Using diplomacy and current events as the foundational topics, several planning models will be presented that can be easily adapted to accommodate up to the minute events. A variety of lessons and activities will be shared, including case study and project based learning examples. These curriculum elements are based on an American 8th grade Social Studies course but can work for a variety of subjects and levels. The session will include access to all course materials in open source form so they can be modified for your classroom or school, and audience members are invited to discuss, collaborate, and share!
