Dr. Iozzo will demonstrate how the program amplifies engagement, respect, and connectivity across cultures, giving insights of how to successfully bring a global perspective across different areas and departments in a public school setting. Dr. Iozzo’s goal for this session is to inspire teachers to adopt an interdisciplinary approach for global studies that allows students to open their minds and hearts about other cultures, the world and their interconnections.
The Rainforest ArtLink is a Creative Connections’ Program. During 2014 facilitated exchanges between 44 classrooms in the US with 44 classrooms located in the rainforest areas of Central America. A total of 1716 students exchanged art and participated in videoconferences, sharing insights about their cultures.
