Co-Presenter Name(s): (none)
Area of the World from Which You Will Present: Houston, US
Language in Which You Will Present: English (unless Spanish sessions are needed? I could do Spanish as well)
Target Audience(s): Teachers, librarians, technology directors
Short Session Description (one line): Using Media and Technology to Connect our Students to the World
Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Whether your community is rural or urban, multicultural or homogenous, beginner or advanced, you can help your children to connect to the world using different media and technology. In this session I will present different (free) on-line projects that are practical, effective, and fun activities to advance global awareness in your K–6 students. Preparing our students for the 21st century includes investigating the world, recognizing different perspectives, communicating ideas, and taking action. Some of the many examples that I will cover include on-line book clubs, global collaboration projects, and student-led blogging.

Becky, we'd love for you to do this in Spanish as well. You can do 1 session in both languages or two separate sessions. Just book yourself twice as per the instructions I'm about to send you....
Thanks,
Lucy
