This project is for students 13 to 16 and uses social media as the basis for communicating, publishing and sharing. Students are the ones that lead the projects that are listed at http://webtowhere.ning.com/group/globalclassroomprojects.
Students are also invited to make their own interest groups to share with others. The global classroom is based at the webtowhere Ning social network and students are encouraged to use creative Web 2.0 tools such as those listed at

This is part of a PhD research study that has being ongoing for a number of years. Much has been learnt through this study and it is now time to open it up more formally into a global project.
My year 7 students, from Geelong Australia, have been testing out the Ning and is at present using AcidXpress music software to add to their multimedia product to share with others based on 'What's in my closet?' - there is much to be learned about cultures and weather by looking at what is in their closet!
More information can be found at http://webtowhere.ning.com/group/gettingstarted
If you are interested in joining this project using social media then please leave a message with your details for Gail Casey in this discussion.
