How do we provide our youngest learners with the tools they need to be competent global citizens? What does global competency look like at this level? What knowledge and skills will give them a solid foundation with which to be active and aware participants in their own global learning?
As a world geography teacher to 11 and 12-year-olds and now a stay-at-home mom, how can I provide my 2 1/2-year-old daughter with the experiences, knowledge, and skills she needs to be a global citizen? This session will consist of personal stories of global learning experiences as well as conversation and discussion about global competency for this age group.
