High-quality, child-friendly resources on global issues can be expensive. Bringing guest speakers on these issues to your classroom could be extremely challenging. With TeachUNICEF, though, it’s easy and free! In this session, educators from this initiative of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF Education Department will show you how with two of its offerings. UNICEF ACT editions consist of a beautiful student magazine on a current humanitarian emergency affecting children, supported by lesson plans, activities, and multi-media investigations. UNICEF Live! sessions are virtual visits for U.S. Fund for UNICEF educators with your young learners through Skype in the Classroom. U.S.-based classrooms can request age-appropriate lessons on water and sanitation, nutrition, health, and UNICEF itself. Through a tour of these offerings and participation in interactive activities, you will learn how you can bring UNICEF to the classroom and better cultivate young global citizens.
