Short Session Description (one line): This session will provide an overview of the value of using student feedback in education improvement initiatives.
Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Recent evidence suggests that student feedback should be a critical component of school improvement and teacher evaluation initiatives, alongside student test performance and classroom observations. The YouthTruth Student Survey was developed in 2008, in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and as of January 2013 has surveyed over 200,000 students from 275 schools across 35 districts and networks nationwide. This session will provide background information on the role of student feedback in school improvement and teacher evaluation, and describe the YouthTruth survey design, themes and factors, methodology, and sample.
