Alex Monceaux holds an MA – English and an M. Ed – Human Development, teaches English as a Second Language at TIEP at Lamar, Lamar University, Integrated Reading & Writing at LIT, Adult ESL Education for Region 5 ESC, and serves as Clinical Field Supervisor at Lamar University’s Cardinal Community Clinic. In addition to serving on the TexTESOL Board of Directors, he is President of Southeast Texas Counseling Association, a chapter organization of the Texas Counseling Association, serves on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Language Learning and Teaching for the 21st Century, is a Conference Committee Member for 21st Century Academic Forum, and sits on the International Advisory Board. Other than teaching and counseling, Alex enjoys researching, writing, and presenting at various conferences. Some of the various areas of research he is currently involved in are: Assessing Self-Regulation in Students, Relationship between Assessments, Student Stress, and Student Achievement, Complexities in ELL Identity Formation, Formative/Summative Assessments, Use of Repetition and Managed Stress for Content Mastery. Some of Alex’s hobbies include hiking, travel, canoeing and rafting, and spending time with his family.
