Short bio or reason for joining Actionable Innovations Global:

Personal - I am part of a multi-cultural, multi-generational family. I have lived and studied all over the world: Spain, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, etc. Professional- I started my career as a world language teacher. In 1990, I embarked on graduate study at the School for International Training and The Experiemnt in International Living (World Learning Inc.)In 2000, I was awarded an National Endowment of the Humanities Fellowship to study Caribbean culture at The University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. The experience inspired me to publish a book on cross-cultural awareness activities for language teachers. I am deeply committed to increasing the global IQ of faculty and students, and believe that immersing oneself in the culture of another is transformational. Over the past 12 years, I have lead over 300 students to live and work in orphanages in the Dominican Republic. In 2013, I founded the www.teachlearnlead.org edu-library for teachers and school leaders.
