To be part of a group that finds value in each other's culture and realizes the need to bring this information to students. As the daughter of a Hiroshima survivor, my message in my MG historical fiction, THE LAST CHERRY BLOSSOM(Sky Pony Press,2016) is not only that nuclear weapons should never be used again, but my hope is that readers/students can understand that the ones we may consider as our "enemy" are not always so different from ourselves. A message that needs to be heard NOW more than ever.
