Short bio or reason for joining Actionable Innovations Global:
I began teaching high school English and ESL in 1969. I have taught Eskimos in Alaska, Navajos in Arizona and foreign students from all over the world. In 1979 I saw a microcomputer for the first time and it changed my life. In 1984 I won the "Teacher of the Year Award" from Electronic Learning magazine. In 1986 my students produced the world's first high school yearbook on CD ROM, in 1995 I founded CyberSchool, the first public school program to offer high school credit courses over the Internet, and in 1998 I became an Apple Distinguished Educator. In 2001 I officially retired from public school teaching and currently work as an educational consultant for Clarity-Innovations, Inc. I also enjoy a courtesy appointment at the University of Oregon and maintains offices at the Center for Advanced Technology in Education. Currently I am working on establishing The Center For Global Teaching and working with Irkutsk State Linguistic University to produce online high school Russian classes (taught by Russians from Russia) for American students.

I saw in your bio that you are currently working on an online Russian language class taught by Russians.
I thought I would drop you a line because I am currently looking to implement an oral history project with a school in Russia. I teach 11th and 12th grade history at Springside School, a private school in Philadelphia. I am looking to have my students co-create an oral history website with a group of Russian high school students. None of my students speak Russian so the project would have to be in English - so perhaps the students on the Russian side could be from an English language class.
