Five individuals are being sought for the creation of EWB’s Teacher Champion Program. This program aims to empower Canadian youth to learn about development and take action against global poverty. To accomplish this, the selected group of teacher champions will work with EWB’s vibrant National Youth Engagement team, learn and liaise with various other global education initiatives, and develop resources for high school students that will be used in classrooms across Canada.Participants will also be funded to participate in the 10th Anniversary National Conference for Engineers Without Borders from January 14 - 15, 2011 in Toronto. What’s more, participants will play a direct role in shaping conference programming as contributors to the Symposium of Global Education, a new and exciting addition to the conference.Program participants will be contributing an average of 3-5 volunteer hours per week beginning in December 2010, and ending in June 2011. In doing so, these teachers will be part of an exciting movement that will reach youth across Canada.
