It will be a new venture, with lots of interaction and a number of interesting K-12 educators participating, as well as a few people from the teacher education field.
The conference will offer opportunities for expert / peer consultations on school practice; case studies on a couple of Boston-area schools implementing programs with global dimensions; use of technology to develop global interactions; school partnerships/ travel; curriculum; and teacher professional development.
Fernando Reimers, who is responsible for the event, has been a strong advocate for global education. I find his ideas about global competencies to be clear and compelling.
