It’s that time of year again - most schools are out and summer conferences are in full swing! We know how busy educators are during the school year, but we also understand how busy you become during the summer. Make the most of this time by expanding your PLN and getting ready for next school year. Here are some ways you can Participate in your own learning this summer.
1. Courses - Looking for meaningful, accessible and fun ways to learn about global competencies at your own pace and perhaps earn some online PD credits? We encourage you to dive into our free series of mini courses developed around the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals. Our latest free course, Life Below Water, corresponds to SDG Goal 14.
2. Collections - Don’t leave your house (or couch) looking for new ideas or lesson plans. Just search through thousands of collections made by other educators with their favorite resources. Search by grade level, topic, or subject and see what others around you are sharing. Check out this one from #GlobalEd16.
3. Interactive Agendas - Make the most of your learning experience before, during and after conferences this summer - and earn digital badges by sharing what you learn! Here are some to get you started: Global Education Day, Hack Edu, ISTE 2017.
4. Chats/Hashtags - Whether you’re a Twitter expert or don’t even own a smart phone, you can stay up to date with the latest resources and best practices shared in hundreds of educational Twitter chats. Just go to the chats page at Participate, search for something that interests you and check out all the resources we pulled from it. Easy as that. To get started, check out #ISTE17, #GlobalEd17 and #HackEd17.
So enjoy your summer, travel someplace new and learn without limits!
