Greetings!
I hope that you will take a look at The Global Challenge (www.globalchallengeaward.org) and then if appropriate, invite a high school student that you know (or several) to take part in the project. On June 1, 2008 we awarded over $60,000 in scholarships to 80 students from 10 countries who built small international teams and created a solution to global warming and the future of energy. We're open to all high school students worldwide. The project can be an after school club, or a private independent study, or teachers can integrate it into their classes.
We also help select the US Team to the International Earth Science Olympiad and would love to involve teachers and schools that you know!
A middle school version is being organized under a new grant from the National Science Foundation and we invite interested teachers and others to contact us about that.
