Full Session Description (as long as you would like): In the startup world things happen fast. An idea is borne in an incubator, tested in beta phase, and then released to the general public. In school, things are much slower moving. It takes years of careful strategic planning to align our schools to what we know works best for student learning.  What if things could happen more quickly? What if rather than spend years on strategic planning, only to find it is rendered obsolete by the implementation phase, you could implement rapid changes right away. You can. This presentation will detail Kyle Wagner's experience in co-founding Futures Academy, a unique 'school within a school' that uses cross-curricular projects to prepare students for a changing global society. The session will provide guidance for you, the school leader in leading your own 'school within a school' to connect students to their passions and the global community . You will learn:
