Short Session Description (one line): This session will describe ways to enhance and extend classroom learning globally through video conferencing.

As part of a two month long unit, students read the novel Shakeltton’s Stowaway, a fictionalized account of Ernest Shackleton’s 1914-1917 Antarctic Expedition. Their teacher then established a connection with two present day explorers stationed at McMurdo Station at the South Pole. The students video conferenced with the explorers.
After hearing about the Skype session a teacher in Dubai contacted the U.S. teacher and now plans are in effect to have the U.S. students video-conference with the students from the United Arab Emirates. Students from both countries will share what they have learned in a video conference format.
In this session, participants will learn from the teacher and her students how this experienced enhanced learning, engaged students and led to further extensions of their learning.Goals for this session:
- Highlight project that captivated student interest
- See & hear (from students) the effects of a well-designed and well-executed global video-conference session
- Gain concrete recommendations for classroom practice.
- Build understanding of the role of student voices in global conferences

Sorry to bother you in these busy days ahead of the conference, but I'd like to know the exact time it will be held. I didn't find it in your presentation page and don't want to miss it.
Also, do I have to enroll /sign in or do something else to attend it or just switch on my pc and get connected? That easy?
