Hi Everyone.
I thought you might know of teachers interested in this... Feel free to pass along.
Peer to Peer University - an Open Licensed and Free Online Peer University sponsored by the Hewlett Foundation and Shuttleworth Foundations - just launched its School of Education Pilot. This fall it will be offering 7 free professional development courses for in-service K-12 teachers. The courses are taught by faculty from Education Development Center, the National Writing Project, Bon Education and other education organizations.
Course topics include:
- Differentiating Instruction
- Student Engagement
- OER in the K-12 Classroom
- Using Web 2.0 and Social Media to Encourage Deeper Learning
- Teaching in Blended and Online Classrooms
- Multimedia and Graphics to Facilitate Deeper Learning
- Writing & Common Core: Deeper Learning for All.
If you know of teachers that would be interested in applying, please forward them the details (all courses are free). This is an important initiative as we are hoping to eventually grow the efforts to be able to provide comprehensive PD for teachers not only in the USA, but in emerging markets and locations that don't have access to high quality affordable teacher training.
The Twitter hashtag for this is #p2pued
I am co-facilitating Using Web 2.0 and Social Media to Encourage Deeper Learning with my partner Chris. Hope to see some of you there!
