How to Handle Classroom Global Diversity in Curriculum Design with a PowerPoint Template. From theory to PowerPoint instructional design in a STEM lesson.

Global Cultural diversity, different learning styles and special needs are now a blended part of our classroom and online environments.  Is there a simple way in leveraging a Smartboard and PowerPoint to facilitate such diversity to work together?

In this session you will be able to download a functional High School robotics PBL PowerPoint lesson to follow along in the session, and plagiarize later.

 We will briefly cover the theory and methods of classroom PBL in order to see how they can translate into instructional design. Second is how to use different Master Pages for different class activities and third is a walk through a real robotics class with a full-configured PowerPoint.

These methods were tested while aiding a US Education Technologies teacher. We wanted to leverage instructional design methods to guide the students in projects allowing the teacher to be have more one on one time with students during problem solving stage. My second challenge is that he needed something super easy that could be modified on the fly.

The templates are designed to “guide, direct and clarify” for a series of scaffold coding projects that will take a month. The teacher needed a way to develop clean direction without reinventing the page design each time.
