The grade 3 class of our school, the American International School of Mozambique, is looking for primary school classes in other parts of the world interested in collecting data on the topic of local water usage, quality and sources. We would love to compare and share our results through collaboration using the Internet and online communication.

Global Collaborative Projects are a new venture for our school, but we are excited to give this a try.

Our grade 3 students are involved in a unit of inquiry about our local water usage and quality. The students will create an online survey of our local community to examine how water is being used and in what quantities. They are also planning a visit to the local treatment plant and the dam.

We are looking for any classes with whom we can share our survey and exchange data.

As we are new to this, we are open to flexible planning.

Would you like to help us out by having your local community take our survey and then we can compare results?

Let me know,

Sharon Peters

  • Hello Sharon!

I am in South Dakota, U.S. and my students are involved with many water qualtiy projects.  I teach high school, but will work with a second grade teacher in May to do a water quality assessment by collecting aquatic insects in our stream.  My high school students will be paired with the elementary students to do the research.  I would love to work with you in any way possible and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Here are a couple of our projects-
