Hello,
My name is Kader Adjout. I am the head of the global history department at Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill, MA, USA.
Anyone interested in Skyping with 11th and 12th grade history students (16-16 -year old) about topics such as conflicts, terrorism or even political current events?
Discussions can be between 30 to 60 minutes and we can try structured or unstructured discussions.
We have been doing a lot of Skype discussions with schools in Afghanistan, Pakistan and South Korea, and we would like to share ideas and engage in discussions with more students around the world.
I hope you will want to join.
Thank you.
Kader Adjout

Hello Kader,
I am glad to see you on the collaborative ning again after almost 2 years since our earlier contact. Since then I am now teaching a senior elective called Modern Asian history with a focus on India and China and I would love to have the opportunity to have my students in the fall of 2012 discuss and/or debate impact of globalization in India and China.
Please let me know if you are interested in pursuing this endeavor.
Thank you,

Hello,
Love this thread. Back in September I started an online Model UN program. We have a growing and incredibly diverse group of students. We've recently created a wiki, and a quick look at this will give you a fell for our upcoming debates, students involved, and how this runs. YOu can find the information at http://wiki.onlinemun.org. we have students participating from the UK, USA, Singapore, malaysia, China, saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Somalia, Jordan, Ghana and ZImbabwe, Lebanon and Israel, oh...Pakistan and India...this has been about 90% student driven, so there is some amazing community involved. We would love for you to spread the word.
Hope to see you on our FB page and please post here if you have any questions....

Hello,
This is great.
I looked at the wiki.
Would you be interested in short debates and discussions with my students and then maybe on bigger projects?
Let me know.
Kader Adjout
Hello Kader,
Where do you teach and what grades are your students. I would love to introduce your students to online debates, by helping them with either a personalized session with the assistance of some of our student leads, or to help them become participants in one of our more low key regional debates.
My only real 'constraint' is that my full time job is this program, and my students are those that I work with in this program...I don't have a traditional classroom, so to speak. Please let me know if you are at all interested.
Kind Regards,
Lisa
