Teaching for Global Readiness Scale

For my dissertation study, I am designing a scale on K-12 global education teaching practices in the U.S. I need your help to ensure the validity of the scale. Would you please complete the linked Validity Trial for me? The Validity Trial is a very important step. Your input will be compared to the input of other global education experts for agreement of answers given. Only the items with a high level of agreement will appear in the final scale. The Validity Trial consists of 84 potential items. Please mark which theme best matches the potential item based on the operational definitions. The operational definitions will appear at the top of each page in the Validity Trial and are attached as a PDF.
For example,
I consider the context of each class when planning global projects.
  • Integrated
  • Situated
  • Critical
  • Transactional
Would be marked Situated because it best illustrates the operational definition for Situated.
Your contribution will help in the design of a valid instrument for teaching global education. The scale can then be used by researchers, teacher educators, and teachers to improve practice and promote global education in K-12 schools across the country.
Please follow the link to begin the Validity Trial. It should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Thank you in advance for your help with this important project.
Also, please forward this email to other Global Education Experts that could help in this process. I appreciate your effort!
Sincerely,
Shea Kerkhoff

Is this a proposal for the conference or just a community request? The call for proposals closed last night!

    • Hi Lucy,

Just a request from the Global Education community.  I'm looking forward to the conference again this year.

      Thanks! Shea
