Write Our World is a new nonprofit that strives to empower multicultural youth to share their stories through the creation of bilingual ebooks. We are building an online library of these stories through submissions by young authors from all over the globe. The expanding inventory of this library will become a resource for students in schools everywhere. Children will be able to learn from each other authentically and their minds will open to the cultural and linguistic diversity of our world. Bilingual ebooks engage all four language domains, as authors tell their story through written text and oral recording. In this way, their creation builds English literacy as well as revitalizing native languages and fostering cultural pride. 

We would like to share our work at your conference to encourage teachers and administrators to implement this programming with their students. We hope to solicit books from as broad a spectrum of voices as possible. 

Our presentation will include a brief history of our organization and examples of our work. We will also demonstrate how to facilitate bilingual authoring and submit books to our library.

Currently, we are creating books with two schools in Guatemala, each from a different Mayan language group, several communities in Brazil, and refugee youth from a variety of countries relocated to Denver, Colorado, USA.
