Short bio or reason for joining Actionable Innovations Global:
I am a Senior Lecturer in Education and an initial teacher educator. I have been researching, teaching, creating and implementing professional learning in the field of education for global citizenship, global competence and sustainable development for the past 15 years in the school, tertiary and not-for-profit sectors. I currently co-lead of the Leading Education for Global Competence and Sustainable Development research cluster at CQUniversity which is currently undertaking multiple projects in the field as well as supervising Masters and PhD students.
Global education projects or initiatives in which you are involved (if applicable):
I am currently working as a critical friend with the Queensland Department of Education International and 22 state schools co-designing the Department's Global Competence Framework and its associated resources and professional learning. In collaboration with the not-for-profit Global Learning Centre, we have also recently developed, trialled and released a professional learning micro-credential Leading Education for Global Citizenship and Global Competence (https://www.cqu.edu.au/courses/leading-education-for-global-citizenship-and-global-competence). We are currently working with education department personnel and academics from Australia, New Zealand and the UK exploring the challenges and opportunities inherent in embedding and sustaining a global citizenship/global competence agenda at system and/or school levels.
