Short bio or reason for joining Actionable Innovations Global:

I used to be a high school teacher, but also worked with international development NGOs. Now I'm interested in how global education curriculum (particularly that produced by NGOs) gets taken up in classrooms, but also how groups of teachers and those in the formal education sector are working together to create new curricula with global perspectives. I'm also hoping to find teachers from BC (elementary or secondary) that are interested in participating our Educating for Global Citizenship Study.

Global education projects or initiatives in which you are involved (if applicable):

Working on a study with Mark Evans, Leigh-Anne Ingram, and Angela MacDonald, entitled Educating for global citizenship: Teachers’ understandings and pedagogical practices in Canada. The study is sponsored by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Institutional Grant. We're looking at teachers’ understandings and practices as global citizenship educators.

Your work sounds really interesting! We have a group here that's interested in curriculum and we could really use your expertise. Maybe you'd like to post about resources you've found or your work in general?

    Thanks,
