Short bio or reason for joining Actionable Innovations Global:
I'm a Canadian who has been teaching since 1998, and have been an international educator since 2001. I have lived and worked in Canada, the UK, Qatar, Vietnam, USA and Singapore (where I am presently)! I recently finished my M.A. in Educational Communication and Technology at New York University and am loving my new role in Singapore. I am committed to international education and feel that intercultural awareness is often lacking within curriculum.

Adrienne, thank you again for the insight...and link to Kim Cofinio's blog. Very helpful. :-)
Hi Adrienne,
I just looked at the great link you gave me (www2.ed.gov...) when I requested recommendations several months ago about online platforms/organizations for global collaboration. So much useful information! I was wondering if you have compiled a list of global school partnerships/ collaborative projects best practices or know of where I might find one? Also, through your research/experience do any organizations stand out as being expecially good with finding schools to partner with in Africa?
A lot of questions, I know. Only if you have time. Thanks!
Cheers-
Janice
Here are some projects with a great deal of worldwide use, from ePals, available at no charge:
ePals Projects for Classroom Collaboration
Welcome to the ePals Projects Page! The global topics are standards-based. Each project can be used as is or customized to your classroom’s needs. To find a classroom partner, check the Project Forums for posts by classrooms interested in a particular project. Alternatively, search the “Connect with Another Classroom” search box on ePals’ home page. Also search the “Ongoing Projects” and “ePals Wanted” forums.
After you find a classroom to collaborate on a Project, we recommend that the two teachers clarify some logistical issues before starting.
The ePals/National Geographic project topics are:
* The Way We Are (an easy way to get started in global collaborative projects)
* Digital Storytelling (student products can be posted at ePals Video Vault after review by ePals staff)
* Projects with science focus: Water, Weather, Natural Disasters, Habitats, Global Warming, Maps.
* Eduteka is translating the projects into Spanish.
Also, check out the teacher-created projects from the ePals Ambassadors: http://www.epals.com/projects/info.aspx?divid=TeacherContest2010-Re...
It's fun to read student Q&As posted in the Student Project Forums.
Please let me know if you have questions or need additional information about these free projects for your publication.
Nice to meet you here. :)
I am interested in your work for the teacher guide for international collaboration.
May you share with me later? ^_^
Great thanks.
Cheers,
Sally
