  • Hi Hailey,
I'm from Melbourne, Australia, and I'm currently working as a teacher librarian but am also a teacher of English, French and German. The teacher librarian role enables me to also be a technology specialist, which is to say, I don't specialise in technology itself, but teacher librarians in Australia are often the first to embrace technology tools and Web 2.0 platforms for teaching and learning. It's a slow process for our staff to move with new ways of teaching and technology, but I can see it happening more this year. All our students have their own laptop. I've created several blogs, wikis, nings this year, and look forward to teachers realising for themselves the potential of connected learning.
    All the best,
    Tania

  • Have a look at http://www.ibo.org/ and you'll see what I mean. The International Baccalaureate Organisation is a worldwide network of schools. All our units of inquiry have a global focus built in.
  • Hi Hailey,
I work at an independent school in Melbourne, Australia, teaching ICT to Years 4, 5 and 6. ICT stands for Information and Communications Technology. I've been in this position for quite a few years, but before that I was a classroom elementary teacher. Our school is an IBO candidate school, so we follow their Primary Years Program. Our focus has therefore shifted to global education, which is why I'm interested in this ning. Thanks for getting in touch.
