  • Hello Paddy,

My name is Patrick Garvin and I am a High School teacher in the United States. I have been in the profession for 15 years and am now pursuing my Masters in Educational Technology at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC). My current class, Integration of Technology: Global Perspectives has assigned a project in which I will be creating a country case study. As a Social Studies teacher, I am naturally drawn to England and chose it as the theme for my case study. Specifically, I am looking at how technology is integrated into British classrooms and a major part of the assignment involves an interview to gather information. I would be extremely grateful if you could find the time to answer the following questions using SurveyMonkey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JWZVBH5):

Do you have adequate access to technology in your school? Please explain.

Has the integration of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) influenced your teaching methods? If so, how was it influenced?

Do you use technology to help in preparing your lessons? If so, what type of technologies do you use?

Does the presence of technology have a positive impact on your students’ ability to learn? In what ways has it been a benefit?

Do you receive training on how to use the technology that is available to you? If so, how often do you receive it?

If you choose to participate, please try to have your responses in by 7/5/16 so that I may time to process them for my report.

    Thank You,

    Patrick

  • Hi Patrick, I will be in London for the google teachers academy the first week of April and would like to visit a tech savvy school in the area to share ideas. At least one other attendee at GTA has expressed an interest in doing the same. Is your school open on the first or second? Do you know of any schools in the area that are tech savvy and might be open?

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated, thanks,Jen
  • Hi Paddy. Great Project!! My name is Ivana. I teach Spanish and ESL in USA. I am also finishing my Master degree in Instructional Technology. I am currently working in a project for my Educational Global Perspective class. I need to interview a teacher about how technology is used in education in the UK. Do you think I can interview you? We can do a Videoconference, or I can e-mail you the questions. Let me know your answer at ivana_vr@hotmail.com, or accept my invitation to be part of my network. Thanks so much. Ivana

Today is September 21- The International day of Peace. In this auspicious day, I urge upon UN,GEC and all world citizens to adopt the following-

    1) UN is urged upon to replace the present Gregorian calendar with the 28 days 13 months moon Peace calendar; the proposal of which is pending with UN for last more than 100 years. This I have fully justified with all logic in my command in my book of "Peace TimeCalendar" published by authorhouse,Bloomington,Indiana,USA.

    2) To improve the QUALITY of Education, introduce PEACE as a subject from play school level to highest level of education to create a violent-free world.

Only implementation of above two proposals will save the humanity from self-combustion. This is a SOS call to UN,GEC and all humans. I hope they hear it and act to avoid the present process of creative destruction.
